How successful the devil has been in distracting us with toy figures while terrorists are sharpening their teeth on the church pulpit!

[T]he Holy Spirit of God is confrontational, and his conviction is powerful. He will not empower nonconfrontational preaching that waters down the gospel, compromises the Word, and takes sin lightly. I believe we are grieving and quenching the Holy Spirit when we say less than what the Bible says in an effort not to offend anyone or more than the Bible says in order to impress everyone. The reality is that we are offending someone—the Holy Spirit—and he is not impressed!
