gods of Dust (Selected Passages)

All sin is nothing more, nothing less than a reversal of the God and creation role. Every sin consists of taking what God intended us to enjoy to His glory (1 Tim 6:17; 1 Cor 10:31), and enjoying it in spite of God who gave it to us. At its core, sin deifies creation and de-deifies God.

That is why every sin we commit is the act of idolatry. We are worshipful creatures by nature—we can't get away from it. The question then is not "Are we worshipping?" but rather "Where are we getting our sense of significance from?"

If you learn to spot the idols in your life, you will have a huge head start at uprooting sin and enjoying the incredible gift of knowing Jesus.
