When "Wow" is all you can say...
Last night Kimberly and I sat down with our 4 kids and read Philippians 4:6-7. Then we started listing off the requests God has answered. As we listed and listed and listed we could hardly believe how many breakthroughs God has brought.
* Our home rented! This was a big financial burden for a long while. A pastor and his wife and four kids moved in last weekend.
* Two people sent gifts totaling close to $2,000 to the Divide the Word ministry, resulting in the $750 fee to the IRS paid for and a good dent made in the $100,000 we are raising to launch the first church service next year. Thank you guys a ton for sending this.
* Through networking like crazy, God is opening up opportunities with 19 people in Austin and 9 in the Midwest who may become part of the church startup. In church planting you need "critical mass." To reach the community, gain momentum, and to become financially independent, a new church needs around 60-70 people to really move forward. Please pray for God to move in the hearts of people He wants here to join us on this mission. We are looking for people ready to totally dedicate themselves to the cause, people ready to live and die for this great city of Austin.
* One of the guys from our "dinner and spiritual talks" nights is talking about taking the next step of commitment to Jesus
* God sent another miracle (long cool story) and paved a way for us to move to south Austin in one month! This is the place where we want to start a new church.
* God continues to gives us more opportunities to connect with more neighbors. A band lives above us (live entertainment right upstairs!) and last night Kimberly and I spent four hours with them, helping them set up, attending their performance, and enjoying conversations with them on the way home. We all rode together.
* Tonight, another new couple comes over for dessert. Opportunities everywhere.
There are about 7 more specific requests God answered but for now, please know that God is pouring out tremendous joy and success because of your prayers.
Will you stop and take a few minutes to thank God with us?
