Time to Brag on God

This is not an exaggerated-ignore-the-headache realities of church planting prayer letter, but a brag on what God is doing. Tonight KK and I could not find words to express how amazing God is proving Himself to be...and now we want to pass it on...
And because God has done so much, will you pray for us that much harder? Great fruit does not make ministry easier nor temptation lighter. Now more than ever we ask you to intercede for myself, Kimberly, Shannan, John, and Mackenzie...as well as the people we are reaching out to...
For me particularly, pray for my heart to walk in humility, trust, purity, and joy in every situation. I have nothing to offer people but Jesus Christ. The more we serve the more we realize Jesus is all we got. And at the end of each day, the only thing that can possibly satisfy us is Jesus.
Pray that each day this week the following words will become truer of me: "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me" (Gal 2:20).
- 3-Band-1-Night concert has been bankrolled almost 100% (through you and friends in Austin). Only $300 remains to be raised to fund this entire event which otherwise would have cost $3,500-$4,000. Ask God to continue to raise up people to give. The purpose of this concert is to give 100 unbelievers a full picture of what its like to be in a faith community and then invite them to join one. If you want to give, contact us here.
- 2 single guys and one family have approached one of our faith communities asking for financial and physical help. God has opened more opportunities into the gospel than I have time to write through giving to people's needs.
- God has enabled us to start 2 faith communities since September.
- Next Wednesday John and Mackenzie (core team members) launch a 3rd faith community at UT.
- God is opening doors for Kimberly and me to start a 4th faith community on the heels of the March 6 concert. Tonight I got permission from a coffee shop to use their meeting room for free!
- We are talking with a couple (Ken and Linda) about starting a 5th faith community during their one-month stay to help us during the month of March. Please pray for these dear friends and thank God for their heart to help us!
- Tomorrow night I take "George" to dinner, a guy who told me last Wednesday he's ready to give his life to Jesus and get baptized.
- Each week I meet with a guy I'll call "Sam" to pray and study the Bible. Last Friday I asked him where he's at with giving his life to Jesus and he replied, "Seth's it's starting to happen."
- John Shook (core team member) has become a true friend. The guy's only 19 but he's exhorting me to take more time to rest, to trust in God's timing as He draws people to Himself, and we are internet accountability partners through xxx watch.
- Our north faith community has begun to serve Austin once a month in place of meeting. Today we joined Austin New Church to renovate a building to be turned into a food bank and music hall with organic gardens. Our plan is to serve the city once a month in place of meeting.
- 6 believers from Michigan (and maybe 2 more) are flying to Austin the 1st week of March to help Church in Reverse setup the concert and investigate further if God is leading them to help us plant this church.
- God is bringing a panel of church planters and missiologists to Austin this weekend to lead a conference called Verge which many people in Austin will attend_people hungry to cast off everything and live the Great Commission.
- Tonight as Kimberly and Shannan rehearsed the awesome acts God is performing, Shannan said, "I feel like we need to stop and pray right now!" So they did.
