Yesterday on a field trip with my 5-year daughter we had a chance to walk out in a field. My heart burned in turmoil, wondering how on earth I'm going to lead what God has started. I felt overwhelmed, inadequate, and blinder than a bat. 

Laying everything at Jesus' feet I said, "Jesus, help me. I don't know what I'm doing. I don't know how to do it. So please help me." In seconds the Spirit brought to mind John 13, the story where Jesus takes on the role of a slave and washes His disciples' feet...the same feet He created.

God said, "You lead by serving." You don't lead by trying to be a leader, trying to control, or making sure everything works out the way you want it. You lead by putting others first. Your personal struggles are helped the most when you help others and make their struggles a bigger deal to you than your own (Phil 2:3-4). This encouraged me greatly. Thats why Jesus said you save your life by losing it (Luke 9:23-24). Let us live and die for others!
